the GNU version of whois of which this is a port.

In many cases, this is volatile and it is a pain to have to wait for
the new version.

For example, right now, AFRINIC is gradually taking ove IP's in both
the ARIN and RIPE ranges which serve Africa. (These IP's generally
belong to satellite companies in the U.S., Europe and the Middle
East.)
