Placing "localhost.localdomain" in "hosts" as shown here: ~ $ cd /cygdrive/c/WINDOWS/system32/drivers/etc /cygdrive/c/WINDOWS/system32/drivers/etc $ grep localhost hosts 127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost eliminates application event log entries like: --snip sshd: PID 6204: Address 127.0.0.1 maps to OurSrvr063.DOMxx1.na.OurSubdomain.com, but this does not map back to the address --snip when you 'ssh localhost'. Or it least it does for me. I had to do more snipping of this post than I wanted because this post was getting rejected as spam. -- Tom --v-v------------------C-U-T---H-E-R-E-------------------------v-v-- ~ $ uname -a CYGWIN_NT-5.2 c7mdcs063 1.5.20s(0.155/4/2) 20060403 13:33:45 i686 Cygwin ~ $ cygcheck -c|grep ssh openssh 4.3p2-3 OK -- Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple Problem reports: http://cygwin.com/problems.html Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/
