Hello, Brian. BK> Hoping that the latest release of openssh would fix the problem I'm BK> having starting sshd as a service, I updated my Cygwin install to Ms. BK> Vinschen's latest release, 4.5p1-1. I then re-ran ssh-host-config. BK> Unfortunately, I'm still unable to start sshd as a service, either with BK> or without privilege separation. I still receive the error message BK> "cygrunsrv: Error starting a service: QueryServiceStatus: Win32 error BK> 1062: The service has not been started.". BK> I feel like I'm missing something obvious, but I've searched the mailing BK> list archives and Googled for every combination of Cygwin, sshd, and BK> cygrunsrv I can think of to no avail. BK> If anyone out there has any suggestions, I would be very grateful. Check folders or files (including logfile) permissions first. I found useful to run FilemonNT from Sysinternals and restart service to see what happening. Sshd just might be unable to write logfile or read configuration files. -- sK -- Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple Problem reports: http://cygwin.com/problems.html Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/
