After the upgrade to vim-7.0.017-1:

-----------------------------------------------------------------
$ echo $PATH
/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/c/texmf/miktex/bin:/c/WINNT/system3
2:/c/WINNT:/c/WINNT/System32/Wbem:/c/Borland/BCC55/Bin:/usr/local/cernlib/2005/b
in:/usr/lib/lapack:/usr/local/root/bin

$ vim &
[2] 1588
bash: vim: command not found
[2]+  Exit 127                vim
------------------------------------------------------------------

Perhaps there is a problem.

Cheers, Angelo.
