Just spent the last 2 days trying to figure out why cygwin apache 1.3.33-2 hangs after awhile, especially when running with php 4.4.2 DSO. It seems to be a cygwin socket problem introduced from cygwin 1.5.18 -> 1.5.19. Others have found this problem too: http://www.cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/2006-04/msg00034.html I confirmed the problem after I suspected this was a related problem: http://cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/2006-05/msg00511.html which led me to revert to 1.5.18-1. Seems work fine so far. Tried replacing cygwin1.dll with the latest snapshot but that doesn't work any better than the 1.5.19-4 release. Hope this saves someone a couple of hair-pulling days.
