You are better off trying a snapshot.  That said, there are still issues
in how CVS emacs manages memory that work find under Windows 2k but tickle
bugs and cause crashes under Windows XP.  I have not had any time to delve
further into it - anyone who can successfully compile emacs on ALL windows
platforms will be greatly appreciated.
