The instructions for sshd (/usr/share/doc/openssh/README.privsep) include the following: You should do something like the following to prepare the privsep preauth environment: # mkdir /var/empty # chown root:sys /var/empty # chmod 755 /var/empty # groupadd sshd # useradd -g sshd -c 'sshd privsep' -d /var/empty -s /bin/false sshd I used XP's Manage/User Accounts to add a group called sshd. When I tried to create a user "sshd", it complained, saying that the group already exists. 1. Which package has "useradd" and "groupadd"? 2. Is it possible to create sshd:sshd?
