Hi,

I have an application that needs HUGE amounts of memory. I switched
from Cygwin 1.5.10 to 1.5.19 and it runs faster and more stable with
virtual memory, great!
Still there is one interesting thing:
The heap_chunk_in_mb - registry setting seems to have an effect on a
Win2000 machine, but no effect on a WinXP Pro machine, where is the
difference?
To make it more explicit: The registry setting is needed on Win2K,
otherwise the application will not be able to allocate the needed
memory. The same application will run without any problem on the XP
machine without any settings, plain Cygwin installation.

Does cygwin use different strategies or limits on Win2K and WinXP?
