I have key binding set to vi and now after having updated to the newest
version of readline the search capability invoked by ESC followed by a /
results in the prompt being displayed a few times along with the /. I have
reverted to 5.0-4 for now which seems to work fine.

5.0-4 behavior:
pauljghosh AT VAIO ~
$ /mysearch <<<< typed ESC / and the search string here

5.1-3 behavior:
pauljghosh AT VAIO ~
$				<<<< typed ESC / here
pauljghosh AT VAIO ~
$ /				<<<< automatically printed
pauljghosh AT VAIO ~
$ /				<<<< automatically printed
pauljghosh AT VAIO ~
$ /mysearch <<<< printed when entering the first
character for search

5.0-4

Regards,

Paul J. Ghosh
