Thank you for your answers.

The following sentences do not work:

	> MODULES=\$"${domain}_MODULES"

The following sentences work fine:

	> eval "MODULES=\$${domain}_MODULES" 
	> eval MODULES="\$${domain}_MODULES"
	> eval MODULES='$'"${domain}"_MODULES
