I have netcat installed and use it regulary to test
IP or INET socket servers.

I am trying to test UNIX socket daemons, not INET
servers.

Will you please demonstrate the command line necessary to
use Netcat with UNIX sockets?

(As opposed to IP/INET sockets?)
