It's just a guess based on the sketchy information provided but I would
say that you must be using an older version of g++ on Linux than on 
Cygwin.  That would account for the problems you see in one O/S and not
the other.  Sounds like there is some updating of source that needs to 
happen for whatever it is you're compiling.
