XERCES_LIB=/usr/lib
XERCES_INCLUDE=/usr/include
XERCESCROOT=/usr/src/xerces ? Depends on where you extract it
XERCES_CONFIG= ?  Dunno, are there no docs included?  Examples?
What about the Xerces documentation?
