[responding to no one in particular] On Cygwin when you hit Backspace you get a ^H. Cygwin has been doing this for many years and it is duly recorded in terminfo and termcap that way. Changing this would require updating terminfo and termcap not just on cygwin but on every system which has a cygwin terminfo entry. So, while the choice by Cygwin's founders was regrettable, we're not going to be changing it. And, there is no bug here that I can see other than my previous buggy email reading. cgf -- Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple Problem reports: http://cygwin.com/problems.html Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/
