Thanks, that's good to read.  The short hangs of about 15 seconds are
actually to be expected.  There's a handshake going on and you killed
one of the shakers mid-way.  The handshake times out on the other side
of the connection and the connection is dropped.  I have another patch
in the loop which might allow to reduce the handshake timeout to a
lower value, but it's possibly not worth it.  Breaking the handshake
is a border situation which justifies a noticable timeout, IMHO.
