Igor,

> Did you reboot since then?

Yes.

> Do you have any Cygwin services running?

No -- I've even run listDLLs
http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/listdlls.shtml
to double-check.

> What's the output of "cygcheck /bin/perl.exe"?
$ cygcheck /bin/perl.exe
C:/cygwin/bin/perl.exe
  C:/cygwin/bin\cygperl5_8_5.dll
    C:/cygwin/bin\cygcrypt-0.dll
      C:/cygwin/bin\cygwin1.dll
        C:\WINDOWS\System32\ADVAPI32.DLL
          C:\WINDOWS\System32\ntdll.dll
          C:\WINDOWS\System32\KERNEL32.dll
          C:\WINDOWS\System32\RPCRT4.dll
