That, or someone actually quoting the e-mail address somewhere (e.g., in
another archive).

Ugh, I can just see the following pasted command line getting mungled:

user AT host>command.com something

(and that's just off the top of my head, there must surely be others).
IOW, it's not as easy as it seems at first.
