>Either login.exe doesn't exist on that box (it's essential on the server >side), or you have more than one cygwin1.dll in your $PATH. That was the solution!! I had in fact an old version of cygwin1.dll in /usr/sbin which I use to start inetd by a registry entry. So inetd operated using the old dll and rlogin using the new dll. Now everything works as desired. Thanks! Very good job!
