Thanks, it does work.

Gui app launched from cron does show on desktop after:
$ cygrunsrv --stop cron
$ cygrunsrv --remove cron
$ cygrunsrv --install cron -p /usr/sbin/cron -a -D -i
$ cygrunsrv --start cron
