Does this confirm that the problem is essentially the same as:

?  It would still be nice to know the *real* problem, but I don't think it
should hold up a release if the "fix" is to just do a Windows update.
Just my 2c.

And, sorry for the lack of follow-up.  I'm knee deep in dwarfs at the
moment (inside joke for those of you on the binutils or gdb-patches
mailing lists).
