Did you perchange put your files in c:\cygwin\usr\bin ? (assuming you installed in c:\cygwin) If so, you should know that the c:\cygwin\bin directory is mounted to /usr/bin, which makes the contents of c:\cygwin\usr\bin invisible from within the Cygwin environment. This is by design. Move the files to c:\cygwin\bin and you should be OK. Note that in all this, I assume you've installed Cygwin's root in c:\cygwin. If it's in q:\tralala (which is possible, of course) replace every instance of c:\cygwin above with q:\tralala. > Why and what can i do to start them from anywhere in the Cygwin session ? If the above doesn't help, look at http://cygwin.com/problems.html to know how to give us more information about you problem :) HTH rlc -- Fraud is the homage that force pays to reason. -- Charles Curtis, "A Commonplace Book" -- Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple Problem reports: http://cygwin.com/problems.html Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/
