Hi Gene,

I didn't mean to imply that there isn't a problem, just that I cannot 
reproduce it in the context of my attempt and with the given example.
Thus, it would be hard for me to find the resolution for it.  However,
I wanted to give you this feedback so that you and/or others seeing
the problem would know that solving the problem will take more digging/
information.  If you find out more, let the list know, as it might help
pin down what the problem is.  My first suggestion would be to look at
the source in the spot where it complains.  Maybe that will provide some
insight.  If not, you or somebody seeing the problem might consider building
rsync as a debug version and investigating the areas of complaint in gdb.
I know that's not the response you were hoping for but you may concede that 
it's better than no response at all.
