cvs is robust enough, but you don't need to "co .". Simply "cvs co
winsup; mkdir ../build; cd ../build; ../src/winsup/configure
--prefix=/usr/install --enable-debugging -v; make", and you should be good
to go. If you need to do anything else, it's a bug.

You don't need the root level configure.
