Subject: | Poor network performance with cygwin utilities |
Ive searched the lists, but havent come up with anything useful, so I ask: Are there known performance problems with cygwins networking layer? I ask this b ecause I seem to be capped at around 160k/sec uploading from my PC with cygwin. The destination machine is AIX, connected by 100mbit switch. Same network. I get approximately the same upload speed with SCP and ncftpput: jason AT bobafett ~/head/mp $ ncftpput -u xxxxx -p xxxxx deathstar \~ build/ams.war build/ams.war: 21.75 MB 162.22 kB/s jason AT bobafett ~/head/mp $ scp build/ams.war jason AT deathstar: ams.war 100% 22MB 155.2KB/s 02:21 Neither machine showed significant CPU load during either test. (both machines < 10%) However, using M$s FTP client I get over 11MB/sec: ftp> put ams.war 200 PORT command successful. 150 Opening data connection for ams.war. 226 Transfer complete. ftp: 22810702 bytes sent in 1.95Seconds 11679.83Kbytes/sec.
