Yes, it's more the size of a large cigar butt, but it's one of those. The
capy is 256 MB, and it will contain things that I want under windows
and also things that I want under linux.  I realize that X is probably
too big and can live without it.  What I really want are the gnu utilities.

Thanks to you both for replying.  This project sounds doable with a pleasant 
amount of work.
