This list tends to recommend Cygwin alternatives, although I've seen the 'runas' approach mentioned on this list as well. The only negative I can see to using it would be if you're launching it from a Cygwin shell and 'tty' is set in your CYGWIN environment variable. In that case, the output is garbled due to Cygwin's use of pipes for I/O handles. Otherwise, if you prefer it, use it. -- Larry Hall http://www.rfk.com RFK Partners, Inc.
