There's always this: http://www.usenix.org/publications/library/proceedings/usenix-nt98/full_papers/noer/noer.pdf But it is a bit out of date now. I'm sure there used to be a link to it from the cygwin homepage but I can't find it now, unless I've lost the plot. Andrew.
