Hi Corina, First thanx for ur reply.... I hv seen ur name at lots of places in CYGWIN world. I am glad u took the trouble of answering my rather basic question. But one thing.... I tried one thingds suggested on the net. umount...... mount -x ..... ....... With this I could set executable bit to a file. Do u think it is the right approach.
