The big difference with the two other solutions: it can follow symbolic links ; a very important feature for people like that have a lot of symbolic links. :) It also has some other interresting features: it is not restricted to gvim, it can transform/unset CYGWIN environment variables, etc. [1] Actually I've used cygstart as Igor did in order to make gvim (or anything else) session not owned by the shell.
