Subject: Wanted X, got Perl - operator error or prequisiste

Subject says it all. Thought I'd try XFree86 under Cygwin. I have never used Perl under Cygwin - I prefer ActiveState 'cause I do lots of stuff outside 
Cygwin. Anyway, I am sure I did not choose Perl in setup.exe. Did it get chosen for me as a requirement of using XFree86?
