Thank you for the quick response. Indeed, there were two cygwin1.dll files on my system...and I didn't know it. Either that or you have not rebooted since upgrading the Cygwin package. If the latter reboot, if not send along the output of `cygcheck -svr' an a *non-compressed* plain-text attachment to the list.
