I’ve been having the same problem with sshd running as a service on XP Pro.
I lose part of the output of some native win32 console apps when I ssh to
the machine. The same commands run fine from rxvt or the cygwin console.
The problem is most annoying when using ‘nmake’ (from visual C++), as Fred
has already noted, but also when using the ‘net’ tool. When I type ‘net’
at the command prompt I usually get a summary of command syntax. Running
the same command in an ssh session results in one blank line. The win32
‘help’ command also generates no output, but ‘dir’ is unaffected. I tried
running ‘cmd’ from within my ssh session and starting the applications from
within the windows console, to no avail. I’m running OpenSSH 3.6.1p1.
I have included a cygcheck report as generated during an ssh session -
hopefully this will help someone track down the problem.
