Howdy Chris,

I solved my problem. Somehow, my include folder had two copies of many
folders: sys and sys(2), postgresql and postgresql(2), arpa and arpa(2). The
'original' folders were all empty and the (2) folders had all the files that
were not found.. so I moved the contents of all the (2) folders to the
'original' folders and my gcc command works now.

Thanks for the pointer.. Cygcheck output is attached. It is a very detailed
file!

Yes I did. Though it is now a moot point, I had this in my first message:

<START QUOTE>
I get a stream of errors from gcc reporting missing files..

$ gcc text.c

                 from text.c:1:

<END QUOTE>

Thank you again to both Chris and Martin for your help!
