There are "Why use X?" threads cropping up from time to time on
<cygwin-xfree at cygwin dot com> (which, BTW, is a proper list for
XFree86-related discussions). As these terms are hard to search for, just
ask, and you'll most probably be pointed to the right threads (or start a
new one ;-)).
