Maybe it should be changed to 
"this_field_is_unused_by_cygwin_running_under_nt/2000_or_XP__instead_cygwin_makes_calls_to_either_the_domain_controller_or_the_local_OS_to_get_the_encrypted_passwd"

(Did I leave out anything? :-) )
