Right. I tried in /tmp/

It worked in /tmp/foo/

But it still doesn't return to the shell prompt:

BTW, /tmp is on NTFS (XP Professional SP1).
/cygdrive/g/Linux/micq (the first copy) is on FAT32 if that
matters.
