Perhaps it doesn't explain what is meant by "sacrific[ing] accuracy for precision", nor precisely WHY "QueryPerformance* functions [is] bad news", nor cite the vague "various references" mentioned. AND PERHAPS you could just answer my question or perhaps point me to a different thread instead (that perhaps DOES have the answers I seek) instead of wasting my others' time with such unhelpful replies.
