Hi Gareth,

That makes sense in the Unix world, but in this
particular XP directory *.* returns the same listing
as *

As you note though, 
grep = * > delme and
grep = *.* > delme.txt
both create an infinite loop.

But, "grep = *.* > delme." does not create the loop.
