You don't have to do this. The names /dev/stX and /dev/nstX are
reserved for tapes anyway.

That looks weird. The drive or the NT tape
driver didn't recognize the tape correctly,
otherwise you'd see valid values here.

I don't believe it's a Cygwin problem. Did you try other tapes already
or is that your first try?
