Hi!
My vague memory indicates that at some time, the permissions for files in
/usr/doc/ncurses-5.2/, for eg, were -rw-rw-r--. Now, after a reinstall
(forced by domain change) I get:
$ ls --color -l /usr/doc/ncurses-5.2/
total 445
-rwxrwxrwx 1 Administ Domain U 24376 Jan 9 2002 ANNOUNCE
-rwxrwxrwx 1 Administ Domain U 9177 Jan 9 2002 Ada95.html

-rwxrwxrwx 1 Administ Domain U 119310 Jan 9 2002 ncurses-intro.html
... and the color for files is, obviously, green. Is this normal?
As posible causes for this, I might have played with the security settings
for drive C:, but don't know what I modified.
When I do a:
touch ~/someNewFile
I get
-rw-rw-rw- 1 rudy Domain U 0 Sep 4 00:14 someNewFile
which is ok and, looking in ACE list, looks like cygwin is setting custom
permission entries for that file.
So, my second question is: isn't setup expected to do the same?
As environment: fresh install from scrach on win2k with latest setup, nt
4.0 domain controller, mkpasswd/mkgroup -l -d, CYGWIN=ntsec
Thanks in advance,
rudy
