Here's something that puzzles me. The standard GREP (2-5-1 from the distribution, as of aug 02) does not like CRLF endings on text files. I'm running an all binary installation (binmode, no text mounts) on w2k. The problem is, grep will not match empty lines as in grep -v "^$" which will break configure on cl.exe output. The funny thing is, I compiled grep from the (cygwin-setup) sources myself, and the problem went away. What are the configure options used to build the distro grep ? While I'm on the line, is there a list of the configure options/prerequisites used to build any binary from the distribution ? Thank you, Dan. -- Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple Bug reporting: http://cygwin.com/bugs.html Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/
