Hi Corinna,
Hope you can resolve my query.....I have just installed cygwin on WindowsNT and am a novice of sorts ......though i know a bit about unix environment.......and stuff.

Now I want to logon to cygwin with a different user name.....( other than administrator)......how do i go about it?

Below is the problem in detail:

		I am logged onto my machine on itlinfosys domain........with user name nipun_java........okay......so what i want to do is just logon with userid nipun

		So what i did is add myself as a user without domain ......keeping name as nipun.....and giving a password....using windows user manager.

		This even got reflected when I did mkpasswd......this is the output

		as u can see nipun is there............

		now problem is .......when i use login command........then its not accepting nipun and the password as a valid entry.

		also when I type passwd command.......it gives the output 

		passwd : unknown user Nipun_Java( which is my login to Itlinfosys domain)................what is the reason for this....

		Do I have to do a "mkpasswd -d | grep nipun_java  >> /etc/passwd" first ?

		Any input would be appreciated?
