What when copying from the Linux-box to the Sun-box? Same problems?
you must have in mind, that cygwin uses OpenSSH (the Linux-box should 
too) - so it could be an OpenSSH-problem - the socket-IO shouldn't be 
the problem here - as it is "just" a TCP-Stream.
