Strange things happen (on Windows sometimes).

Have you tried to install another module instead of Bundle::CPAN?
A newer version of CPAN is included in perl-5.8.0 (not the latest), try
to run 'autobundle' with the old perl and install the new perl then.

Maybe a reboot helps?
