As do I...

The above *may* actually be a Cygwin procmail problem. The following is
an excerpt form the Cygwin procmail README:

    3. Extremely occasionally, Cygwin procmail will leave a stray .lock
    file around which can cause a misfiling of mail messages. I am
    attempting to track down the root cause of this problem. Any help
    would be greatly appreciated.

I have the above problem but only on the order of once every month or
two. So, if you are experiencing this at much higher rate, then you may
have uncovered a different problem.

BTW, I am still using my own private build of mutt 1.4, configured as
follows:

    $ mutt -v
    Mutt 1.4i (2002-05-29)
    Copyright (C) 1996-2001 Michael R. Elkins and others.
    Mutt comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY; for details type `mutt -vv'.

Note that my mutt build is configured for dotlocking.

I will give Gary's a whirl (hopefully) this coming week.
