Subject: Customising 'ssh' colours

I recently changed my 'ls' colours by hard-coding the LS_COLORS list from a
Linux machine into cygwin's '/etc/profile' and exporting after 'dircolors'
failed to do the job properly. However, it doesn't work with 'ssh' which
defaults to the original 'ls' colours. How do I customise the 'ssh' colours?
