It appears to be removing \r's from binaries. Unless I'm seeing things. I do a "cp orig.exe copied.exe" in a text-mounted tree and I see this: orig.exe: 0000100 016 037 272 016 \0 264 \t 315 ! 270 001 L 315 ! T h 0000120 i s p r o g r a m c a n n o 0000140 t b e r u n i n D O S 0000160 m o d e . \r \r \n $ \0 \0 \0 \0 \0 \0 \0 ^^^^^^^^^^ copied.exe: 0000100 016 037 272 016 \0 264 \t 315 ! 270 001 L 315 ! T h 0000120 i s p r o g r a m c a n n o 0000140 t b e r u n i n D O S 0000160 m o d e . \r \n $ \0 \0 \0 \0 \0 \0 \0 312 ^^^^^^ It's been doing this for a few snapshots now. mount looks like this: c:\unix\bin on /usr/bin type system (textmode) c:\unix\lib on /usr/lib type system (textmode) c:\unix on / type system (textmode) c: on /cygdrive/c type user (textmode,noumount) "cp --version" yields: cp (fileutils) 4.1 -- Gary R.
