There is no 1.8 at my site.
Get the precompiled libiconv version 1.7.

If you really want to build from source, read the README at
this site, fetch the tarball with the 1.7-2 sources and try
to figure out what needs to be done to get 1.8 compiled the
same way as it was done with 1.7.
