Subject: problem with installing postgreSQL
Date: Fri, 7 Jun 2002 15:23:44 +0200
MIME-Version: 1.0

Dear Sir or Madam,
please, can you advise me with the following problem? I tried to install
PGSQL under Cygwin, and when I wanted to initialize the database cluster:

*************
$ initdb -D /var/pgsql/data
The files belonging to this database system will be owned by user "benedikt".
This user must also own the server process.

Fixing permissions on existing directory /var/pgsql/data... ok
creating directory /var/pgsql/data/base... ok
creating directory /var/pgsql/data/global... ok
creating directory /var/pgsql/data/pg_xlog... ok
creating directory /var/pgsql/data/pg_clog... ok
creating template1 database in /var/pgsql/data/base/1...
*************

the process hung-up in this moment, and I had to kill all the window. Please,
could you help me to fix this problem? Or can you recommend me someone who
would?
Thank you very much, yours faithfully
Jiri Benedikt
