You should take this over to the mutt list; there's a lot more experience
there.  If you don't know about it yet, surf over to mutt.org and
subscribe to mutt-users, perhaps taking a moment to check the archives
for similar questions and their answers.

If you come back with any cygwin-specific wisdom, I'm sure mutt-users
would like a summary just as much as this list would.
